De Amstelkerk

Amsterdam
Parties, Wedding
50-250

The Amstelkerk was built in the years 1668-1670. It was built as an emergency church for the residents of the newly constructed second part of the canals. The design by city architect Daniel Stalpaert was so simple that one spoke of a ‘sermon shed’. In the end the plans for a large stone church on the Amstelveld were not carried out. The ’emergency church’ has remained to this day.

The middle space of the Amstelkerk is a not only suitable location for lectures but also for symposiums, dinners and receptions. Everything is possible in the evenings and in the weekends. The acoustics of the wooden building lends itself perfectly to recitals and concerts. The monumental, restored B├Ątz-organ can still be played. Moreover, the Steinway wing of Youri Egorov has been given a permanent place in the church. The Amstelkerk is also the official wedding location of the city of Amsterdam, and an ideal location for a fairytale wedding.

In theater setup there are 180 seats, during receptions there is room for up to 280 people. At round tables up to 100 people can dine in this atmospheric environment and at straight tables up to 150 people.
