Van Houtenkerk
The ‘Van Houtenkerk’ in Weesp has a very rich and completely authentic interior. This church was erected in 1906 by order of the sisters Van Houten, children from the famous chocolate family. The ‘Van Houtenkerk’ in Weesp is beautifully furnished in the style of Berlage’s new art. This church is popularly known as “the chocolate Church ‘.
The ‘Van Houtenkerk’ was erected in 1906 by order of the sisters Of Wood. Because after more than a century of use the last of the daily management and maintenance had become too large. In 2009 the Church was taken over by stadsherstel. The outside of the Wooden Church has Romanesque Revival style characteristics. Stand the beautiful crowns and wall-mounted luminaires, and the many templates on the walls and ceilings. Room acoustics is excellent.
